On November 26, my daughter was driving on the highway and the car started to smoke and all warning lights came on. We towed the car to Canadian Tire on Coventry to get car fixed. On November 27, mechanics calls me to say the waterpump needs to be changed and that there is a very small leak coming out of gasket. He advises me that it would cost $1,000 to fix that gasket and that he could use a sealant to patch the hole instead as it is much cheaper. I picked up my car around 7pm and paid $560 for repairs and drove home, but noticed the heat was still not hot enough. I wake up on November 28 to go to work and notice a big puddle under my car as the coolant leaked out. I called Canadian Tire to let them know my car was not fixed and they said they would send a towing at their expense if it was their fault. After they looked at the car they call me and now they say that because I “refused” to replace the gasket it was my responsibility to pay for the towing. I disagreed and told them that I went with the sealant at the advice of their mechanic. The invoice does not mention that the leak was sealed. I told the manager (rude Mike Kelly) and he said it was obviously covered under miscellaneous. I explained to him that I have been there several times in the past week to buy tires and fix my car and plead with him to give me a break as my car was broken again after picking it up just the night before and I shouldn’t have to pay for the towing as they obviously didn't fix the problem. Mike said it was not their problem and they would not cover the towing cost. I told him I was not pleased and that I would take it further up the line as their service was crappy. He said their service was excellent and proceeded to tell me to go ahead and to make sure I spelled his name right in the report then hung up on me. This is the service I get after giving them $2,000 in a matter of a couple of weeks. Crappy Crappy Tire. Do not take your car there, they will break it and then blame you for it. They do not care about customer service. Sad job Mike!
